For many years I have been
called Firecracker or Fire for short. My friend Ben gave me that
name and it just stuck. I was given the name due to my red hair and
my personality. . . at least that's what Ben told me. I am a single
mom and live in Virginia. I am really from Pennsylvania and I miss
it a lot! I work in the theater department at Sweet Briar College
in the costume shop. I am the costume designer and costumer.
I also act in the productions when I get the chance to. Theater is
my life! I also choreograph musicals and show choirs. I was
the assistant choreographer for the musical we did in the Spring of 2001
and it was fun. I am also a returning college student and am double
majoring in Theater and Elementary Education. Ok, ok, I know education
isn't really a major but in Pennsylvania it is and I just can't get used
to it not being so. I want to teach Kindergarten or college theater
and choreograph musicals in the evening. I also think it would be
wonderful to act for the rest of my life but I don't know if I'll ever
get there. One can keep hoping though! That is my dream for
when I grow up....hehe. There are so many things I love in life and
I know I can't share them all with you but I'd like to share as many as
I can. I love coffee! It is the greatest thing in the world.
I love to go to coffee houses and just sit around with friends and relax.
There are none in this are and I miss it a lot.
I have Irish, German, Scottish,
and American Indian blood. I used to play the bass trombone in the
marching band when I was in high school. I loved it! Our band
was so much fun. I also play the piano but not very well, I hated
having to sit down at it for hours to practice. My Birthday is in
August and that makes me a Leo. If you look up any description of
a leo in a book, you will get a description of me. I find it too
accurate....it's almost scary. I learned one of the most interesting
facts about dolphins at my first college....they ae the only other mammal,
and I think animal, that has sex for pleasure. That just blows my
mind! I never would have guessed. I also love old shows like
I Dream of Jeanie and Bewitched. I never get to see them but I love
them! I used to work as a cashier, in the deli, in the bakery, and
in produce when I was in high school. I was trained for all the different
areas and I loved it. I preferred the bakery and it was there that
I learned to decorate cakes. It's a neat talent to have, especially
since I have a little girl. After I left there, I went to Denny's
and worked as a waitress. It was tons of fun and I miss it and the
people. Everyone should waitress at least once in their life.
Then, they would respect what all goes into the job and what all they have
to put up with. I hope you got to know me a little bit and I hope
